The intention of the Quadrat camping trip is to provide group, adventure, and nature-based activities that promote the development of social support (collaboration and community) and self-awareness (mindfulness, adaptability) for first-year students and leadership development for more senior members of the Quadrat community. The QSO is an optimal experiential learning environment (nature) where cooperation, initiative, and reflection lead to the development of a strong community and to personal insights. The QSO camping trip is helpful in providing educational and character development experiences which advance personal responsibility, health and well-being, community, leadership development, civic engagement, and stewardship for the natural world.
