Our COVID-19 Response
Quadrat Academy will be opening with a hybrid model this fall. A combination of outdoor classroom experiences and online studies will be the routine for autumn. We seek to balance safety with meeting students' social and academic needs by providing an opportunity to work outdoors in learning pods with physical distancing options.
Update on November 16: Due to the new guidelines in Philadelphia, we are moving all academic modules and labs online. We will still offer the option for in-person Experiential Days for a limited amount of students.
It is our priority to ensure the health and safety of all Quadrat families, students and educators. Key measures such as disinfection, mandatory masks, physical distancing, and air purification will be in place. Clear lines of communication will be available between students, families, guides and the Head of School; in case of symptoms or illness, our school network will be notified immediately and we will proceed with the necessary procedures.
Outdoor learning will be a cornerstone of this school year. We will be traveling to the farm at our partner school, the Montessori Academy of New Jersey, where students can work in the garden, with animals and on the nature trail. Self-contained groups of 3-5 with physical distancing will make certain that students can work safely without sacrificing social needs and responsibilities. At the farm, we will still carry out many hands-on, interdisciplinary projects, while online studies will focus on technology, innovations, entrepreneurship and media labs such as VR, AI, photography and other tech skill sets. One on one advisory meetings with students ensure that each student feels an optimal level of comfortability for success.
We will continue to monitor the situation in Philadelphia and communicate all changes in protocol as quickly as possible.
